The Hippy Prospect

There are some individuals who should not be behind the wheel of a fast speed, 2 ton vehicle. Safety of others and oneself are the main components of this.The following are reasons/ red flags that someone should not have their license. (I have experienced these second hand).

•  They do not wear their corrective lenses. This one is a biggie especially at night. When a person has difficulty seeing road signs, lines, and even other vehicles it may become a huge safety hazard. It is imprinted on the back of their license for a reason!
• They can attest that driving on the sidewalk is scary. I was utterly shocked when one of my friends admitted to me that she couldn't tell the difference between the lines and realized she had been driving on the sidewalk for a whole block. This could be accounted for by not wearing corrective lenses (cough, cough), but still horrifying none the least.
• They confidently use their phone will driving. A friend of mine once gushed over Facebook how she had just had a near death experience. She went on to explain that as she was changing the music on her phone and somehow drifted onto the wrong side of the median on a busy road.  Put your damn phone away!
• They do not understand the concept of a yellow light. Yes I understand that it is sometimes difficult to judge distance and speed when a yellow light suddenly appears, but it is quintessential to driving. When you are a block away when the light turns yellow, come to a stop. Running red lights is stupid and dangerous.
• They assume you will automatically be their back seat driver. When an individual's driving is so bad that they are use to being critiqued by every passenger they have ever had, they should not be driving. They may ask for help in judgement of lines and distances, and even get mad when you don't notify them before they do wrong.
